City Vice Mayor Jocelyn "Bebot" Rodriguez opened the activity with a statement expressing her support for the city mayor's RISE program.
"We may be different in political agenda, but for now, we are working as one for the betterment of Cagayan de Oro City, and that we are here to support the RISE of our Mayor Klarex Uy," Rodrigiez said. .
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) City Director Jane Docallos echoed the vice mayor's statement, adding that the ideas of the city councilors should also be taken into consideration to have one common agenda with the executive department. .
"We have to support the RISE CDO. Ako lang pud i-emphasize that it does exclude the city council... Take into consideration the ideas coming from the city council to have one common agenda," Docallos said.
The DILG city director also assured the City Government officials of the agency's support to RISE CDO program.
"On behalf of the DILG, we assure the City Government, Mayor Klarex, vice mayor and the rest of the city council and the department managers, of our support," Docallos said.
City Administrator Atty. Roy Raagas, for his part, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the executive and legislative departments for the success of the three-year term of the current administration.
"Importante kaayo ang side sa legislative tungod kay naa man gyud ang katunga sa unsay gusto sa executive tungod kay legislative man nga side maoy mohatag sa katumanan pinaagi sa polisiya, ordinansa ug resolusyon," Raagas said.
He added that regardless of the political agenda, as Kagay-anons, their hearts and minds are one in working for the betterment of Cagayan de Oro.
The ELA is a unifying document corresponding to the term of local elective officials that is developed and mutually agreed upon by both the executive and legislative departments of the local government unit. The ELA supports existing planning systems and adds greater value to LGU-mandated plans (e.g., CDP) by moving them forward to being implemented and monitored. (JAS-CIO/photos by Jay Arancon)
