A FISHERFOLK group in Barangay Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City harvested 3,182 kilograms of bangus (milkfish) last Saturday, Jan. 10.
The sizable harvest made by CASFA (Cugman Active Small Fisherfolk Association) was made possible through Cagayan de Oro City Hall’s assistance.
City Hall through its City Agricultural and Productivity Operations Office (CAPOO) turned over 10,000 bangus fingerlings and distributed 259 sacks of bangus feeds to the association last Sept. 10, 2025.
CAPOO’s assistance is part of City Hall’s strengthened implementation of the Fisheries Production and Extension Program in Cagayan de Oro City in pursuit of the RISE development agenda of Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy.
The program provides the city’s fisherfolk with essential production inputs and technical training to improve their livelihood and boost productivity. (LRM/CIO photos from CAPOO)
